Certificate No. 000358 / The human cost of nuclear catastrophe
This is a photo exhibition about the devastating effects of nuclear power in Russia: Chernobyl ', Semipalatinks, Tomsk-7, Mayak
"On 26 April 2010 marks the twenty-fourth anniversary of the biggest nuclear disaster in human history, the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor ', Russia. Russia is a major player on the world stage for the development of the nuclear industry, but its History is full of serious accidents in nuclear waste management contrary to any law of environmental protection. Millions of people suffer the consequences of exposure to nuclear radiation.
The pictures show the devastating impact that nuclear power has in a country where Chernobyl 'is unfortunately not the only case of nuclear accident. Beyond Chernobyl ', the locations photographed are Semipalatinks East Kazakhstan - the main nuclear test site of the Soviet Union, Tomsk-7, where in 1993 an explosion at a nuclear plant has contaminated a number of villages within a 200 km2; Mayak, south east of the Urals, strategic site for the production of nuclear weapons, one of the least safe and most polluted in the world. "
We look forward to starting at 18: oo on February 18, until midnight on February 20 nel Foyer del Teatro Kursaal
